John McCauley was elected to the City Council in November 2013 and is currently serving as Vice Mayor. He served as Mayor from December 2015 to December 2016. Prior to his term on the Council John spent six years on the City's Planning Commission, serving as Chair in 2010 and 2013.
John’s other services to the City include being a member of the Miller Avenue Design Advisory Committee (DAC) in 2011 and serving as Chair of the Community Vitality Committee of the General Plan Advisory Committee MV2040 from 2011 to 2013. He was also a Mill Valley Soccer Club Board Member, serving as treasurer for many years.
John is a retired accountant and former PricewaterhouseCoopers partner with 35 years experience providing audit and consulting services to clients and managing a practice group. Currently, John teaches at his alma mater, UC Berkeley, in the Haas School of Business.
John and his wife, Cindy, have been proud Mill Valley residents for over 35years. Their two adult children graduated from Mill Valley public schools, and Cindy is a former Tam High School District board trustee and a member of the Executive Board of the Outdoor Art Club in Mill Valley.
