Preschool @ the Center Program

We are excited to offer in person Preschool @ The Center programming this academic school year 2020-21. We will do our best to provide an enjoyable experience for your child but it is essential that there is mutual respect in regards to observing all program rules. We have been working hard on the re-creation of our programming and have come up with new classes to fit your preschoolers needs within following the Marin County Health guidelines and standards.

To ensure the safety and well being of all staff and children involved in Preschool @ The Center this year, it is critical that all children follow program rules listed in the Parent & Preschooler Expectations Sheet this school year without exception.

• Contact Molly Given at mgiven@cityofmillvalley.org for availability, registration information and paperwork.
• If you register for Session 1, you will be given priority registration for Session 2. Child will be automatically placed in the same class (no lottery).
• If any additional spots are available, Mill Valley Recreation will open up remaining spots on a first come, first served basis with an opportunity to be waitlisted at that time.
• Per County Guidelines, the Facility is currently closed to the general public.

Classroom Structure:

• Each preschool class will have a designated classroom and will be conducted in stable groups of 12 preschoolers or fewer and they will be kept separated at all times.
• Each preschool class will have two designated Teachers with a 1:6 ratio.
• Each preschooler will have their own designated desk, chair and supplies (i.e. crayons, glue stick, markers, scissors, etc.).
• Outside entrance for drop off and pick up.
• Parents will be required to distance 6 feet apart and wear a face mask at drop off and pick up.

Preschool Sessions

The program will run Monday, August 31- June 4, 2021.

We will be hosting 3-week long sessions through the school year or until guidelines change. No more than 12 preschoolers per class will be permitted. Priority will be given to those registered for session 1.

Preschool Class Descriptions

Kinder Prep
Our Kinder Prep class is designed for Transitional Kindergarten and those entering Kindergarten in Fall 2021. The class will further develop social, emotional, and classroom skills. This class has a thematic play-based curriculum that is enhanced with academic components. Children enrolling in this program must be fully toilet trained, and able to participate without parents being in the classroom. Prior preschool experience is recommended. Your child must be entering Kindergarten in Fall 2021 to enroll in this class.
Ages: 4.5 - 6
Birthdates: 8/1/2017 - 9/1/2015
Days of the Week / Class Times: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 1:00pm
Classes Per Session: 15
Fee: $795

The Playhouse
The Playhouse class is for children to explore and play together in a safe and secure environment. Children participate in cooperative activities such as art, science, music, outdoor play, and story time. Children enrolling in this program must be fully toilet trained, and able to participate in the program without parents being in the classroom.
Ages: 3 - 5
Birthdates: 2/1/2016 - 9/1/2014
Days of the Week / Class Times: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 12:30pm
Classes Per Session: 15
Fee: $750

It's Playtime!
The It's Playtime class is designed to enhance social, emotional, cognitive, fine motor, gross motor and sensory development. This is a thematic play-based program supplemented with academic components. Your child will be exposed to a variety of activities that will better prepare them to enter Kindergarten.

Birthdates: 8/1/2017 - 4/1/2015
Days of the Week / Class Times: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9:00am - 12:30pm
Classes Per Session: 9
Fee: $435
